Fab Fabrics Star of Valor

We are so excited to announce our first 2024 class!

Josephine Keasler, a certified Judy Niemeyer instructor, will be joining us to teach  the new Quiltworx pattern called Star of Valor. This sumptuous three-color design is delicate and patriotic and is designed in a 80" x 80" (shown below) or a king-sized 118" x 118" (second picture). 


Class Sessions:

May 24 and 25, 2024
Friday class hours: 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Saturday class hours: 10:00 am-4:00 pm (Lunch Provided)

June 7 and 8, 2024
Friday class hours:  5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Saturday class hours: 10:00 am-4:00 pm (Lunch Provided)
June 21 and 22, 2024
Friday class hours: 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Saturday class hours: 10:00 am-4:00 pm (Lunch Provided)

If a student is unable to attend a session, a Zoom option is available.

Total instruction time: 27 hours

Class fee is $150.00 

80" x 80" Quilt Pattern: $75.00 (regular price $84.00, savings of $9.00)

118" x 118" Quilt Pattern Extension: $45.00 (regular price $60.00, savings of $35.00)

80" x 80" kit:  $215.00 (regular price $260.00, savings of $45.00)

118" x 118" kit:  $399.00 (regular price $450.00, savings of $51.00)

If you would like to build your own kit and select your own fabric, you will receive a discount on the fabric here in the store. 

Quilt backings are 20% off, when fabric/kit is purchased from Fab Fabrics. 


La Quinta Inn (3 minute walk from Fab Fabrics) will have a special class rate. More information will be provided upon class enrollment.

Teacher's Bio:

When Josephine and her husband Charlie moved to Utah in 2007 she was excited to join the quilting community.  She has served as an officer of the Utah Quilt Guild in many positions, and in 2021 was honored to receive the Silver Thimble award “for outstanding efforts to encourage, promote, and preserve the art of quiltmaking in Utah.”  Having made more than 200 quilts in the past seventeen years, she has developed exceptional skills in all areas of quilting, including design, color theory including value, paper piecing, and border options.


Josephine has earned and maintains instructor certification in both Judy Niemeyer designs and Laura Heine collage designs.  She is one of four authorized teachers in the United States for Jacqueline de Jonge designs.


As a result of her talent, expertise, and joy of teaching, she has won numerous quilt awards.  She teaches at various venues and is a regular instructor for Empty Spools Seminars at Asilomar.  Josephine is consistently praised for her expertise as an instructor.  She loves to help quilters at all levels to experience the joy of quilt making.
